Last year, Ecclesiastical donated £130 to an Anglican Church of the customer’s choice for every home insurance policy it sold. The campaign has been so warmly received that the insurer has decided to extend the promotion into 2019.
The campaign, which was launched to celebrate the insurer’s 130th anniversary year, has resulted in almost £250,000 of small grants to parish churches across the country.
More than 1,300 churches have received grants through the Trust 130 campaign so far, and almost 1,900 individual donations have been made. The grants have already funded a variety of projects including the restoration of artwork, the installation of a new sound system and family fun days, as well as maintenance and repair projects.
Michael Angell, Church Operations Director at Ecclesiastical said: “We are delighted to announce the extension of this campaign because it means many more churches will be able to receive a grant – for individual churches this money can make a huge difference. Anybody purchasing a home insurance policy from Ecclesiastical between now and 31 December 2020 can nominate any Anglican church to receive the £130 donation.”
The Trust130 campaign is part of Ecclesiastical’s commitment to donating £100m to good causes by the end of 2020.
“We know the difference even small donations can make to churches, helping to fund anything from repairs and day to day running costs, to exciting new projects and equipment. The Trust130 campaign has allowed us to donate over £250,000 so far,” Michael added.
To take advantage of the scheme, home insurance customers simply have to quote Trust130 when they take out a new home insurance policy and name the Anglican Church they would like to receive the donation.
The Trust130 campaign will now run until 31 December 2019 and there is no limit to the number of individual donations a single church can receive. Full terms and conditions for the scheme can be found here
