Fundraising - an increasingly important part of church life

Fundraising is an increasingly important part of church life. However there are lots of good causes looking for donations, so securing your share is becoming more and more important.

Here are some handy hints for church fundraising initiatives, including planning and its importance, using the internet, applying for grants, talking to the press and the fundraising ideas.

In 2007 we ran a competition to find Britain’s most innovative church for fundraising. Entries were judged on their creativity as well as their success. What struck the judges of the competition was not only the massive difference in the amounts of money that churches were looking to raise, (anything from £150 to £400,000) and what it was for, but also the variety of ideas.

Coming up with good ideas can be difficult, especially when you need them. Hopefully there will be something here to kick-start the creative process.

Good luck with your project.
