Real Estate is the new Property Investors

Property Owners has been a core part of our business since 1887 but it’s not a sector that we’ve always been as well known for. In 2016 we’ve rebranded this niche to Real Estate in order to provide a more contemporary feel and also be consistent with how many of our broker partners recognise this sector.

We’ve also reviewed how we make best use of our extensive proposition in this area to help our broker partners to secure and retain business.

How can we help you?

In 2015 you’ll know that we replicated the proposition that had been available to specialist brokers trading with us in London by rolling this out to our Birmingham and Manchester offices.

The real estate market provided challenges for brokers and insurers alike during the year. Overcapacity fuelled a continued focus on price, rather than the wider value proposition.  Despite this pressure, we have remained true to our underwriting led approach to risk evaluation and acceptance whilst successfully and profitably growing our account - a result we are really proud of.  We thank you for your support in achieving this.

Fundamental to our success has been our business model of offering a one stop shop for:

  • Underwriting

  • Servicing

  • And risk management from our regional teams

All backed up by our highly regarded and experienced claims operation.

Our in-house risk consultants continue to offer a buildings insurance valuation service for all types of property at no additional premium – providing an average free policy and a protection against underinsurance.

Building on that success we have taken the opportunity to strengthen our teams securing a number of high calibre underwriters and Chris Withers as Real Estate Development Manager to support the teams in 2016.

Part of our development strategy is to ensure that we are increasingly and consistently engaging with our business partners and maximising our joint opportunities to secure and retain business.

In addition we are refreshing our Property Investors and Property Owners propositions in the first quarter of 2016 to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our customers.
