Customer Relationship Manager

I joined Ecclesiastical seven years ago after graduating from uni in Business and Financial Economics. I’d always planned to work as an accountant, but a job as a reinsurance technician at Ecclesiastical caught my eye. Since joining, I’ve been lucky to work in a variety of roles, including a secondment in Australia, which was great, and they’ve enabled me to work my way up the career ladder fairly quickly.
I recently landed the role of Customer Relationship Manager in the Claims Department. As the title suggests, this involves a lot of contact with our customers and business partners, providing bespoke claims handling solutions, and support to colleagues in highlighting the excellent service we provide.
I don’t tend to have a typical day – you never know when the wind might blow – but my role is extremely varied and includes service innovation, troubleshooting and relationship building. I also work closely with marketing, underwriting and our claims team of course! I particularly enjoy going out to meet our brokers and customers.
Ecclesiastical provides plenty of opportunity for personal growth and development, and has recently supported my study for the Advanced Diploma in Insurance. Every role provides a unique learning opportunity and the chance to work with new colleagues.
I like to think that my opportunities have been created through hard work and a desire to build my career, but I’m sure that there has also been an element of ‘right place, right time’. Still, you have to be willing to take the opportunities as they arise!
